Before The Engines of Sodor began airing in June 2013, there had been two previous attempts at making a pilot episode for a Youtube show. Neither were completed and the third attempt eventually became A Wretched Day for Henry and James. "Original Pilot 1" was the first attempt to make a Thomas episode by Thomas1Edward2Henry3. It was produced around November 2012 but was never finished.
First Original Pilot[]

The plot would have revolved around Sidney and his trouble with his memory.

Behind the Scenes[]
A script was never written for the episode. Instead, T1E2H3 just filmed as he went along, resulting the story being very choppy. For this reason, he cancelled the episode about halfway through filming and decided to start off with remakes of TV Episodes. Most of the footage was deleted, though three stills remain today.

T1E2H3 did not intend to have voice actors at the time.
Second Original Pilot[]
The second attempt, on the other hand, was actually very near completion around May 2013 before it was terminated.
Plot[]
The story featured a big soccer match on Sodor. Henry and Duck were given the job of taking the fans home, but they were very rowdy and caused many problems. The story was very similar to NWR1991's NWR Tales episode "Roudy Singing".

The episode had actually completed filming and most of the voice actors had sent their lines. The episode was cancelled because Thomas1Edward2Henry wasn't pleased with the story. He thought it was too similar to the NWR1991 story mentioned above. No footage exists today as it was all deleted. However, some audio still remains, including some of the voice actors' lines. Andrew Homer's one line as James in the episode is still on his channel.
