Alaric is the number 7 engine on the Culdee Fell Railway.
Bio
Alaric was built at the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1962 to the latest "superheated" design. He arrived on Sodor along with Patrick (then under the name Lord Harry) and Eric in May of the same year so that Shane Dooiney to be sent away for an overhaul.
Personality
Alaric's personality is described as being nice and quiet. It can also be assumed that he is careful and cautious like the other mountain engines.
Trainz Model
Since The Slopes of Culdee Fell, the Jonateers model of Alaric is used. Prior to that, SI3D‘s Lord Harry Model was used.
Basis
Alaric is based on No. 7 Ralph, an engine who worked on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, he was originally called "Aylwin" when built in 1923 and was renamed "Ralph Sadler", before it was shortened to "Ralph". Ralph was withdrawn withdrawn from service in 1990, his boiler has been scrapped, dismantled and stored off-site. It has been stated that it is very unlikely that the engine will be repaired and resume service anytime soon.
