Constable Charles Chap (born November 19, 1951 age 72) is a former policeman who worked for the town of Wellsworth. He gained fame in 1995 as the investigator of the paranormal attacks on Gordon and Henry.
Bio[]
Charles Chap was a well known and respected policeman of Wellsworth from 1987 until his retirement in 2018, thirty years later. He is very friendly and known well by the engines. In October of 1995, he was called to investigate a mysterious incident in which Gordon, Henry, the Express, and one of the breakdown cranes ended up off the rails in a terrible mess. He concluded the case after seeing video footage from the incident.

Constable Chap is just a generic modern British policeman found on the download station. This model was used for several other policeman throughout The Engines of Sodor.

Trivia[]
- In Revenge of the Ghost Train: Constable Chap was originally going to have a larger role and he was to accompany Sir Topham Hatt and Rogman on their adventure. However, T1E2H3 felt that it would be odd for a policeman to leave his duties to do so. In fact, some of his original lines went to Rogman.
